Bears need a bee

It's a fact, every bear should have a pet bee.

I got mine at the cricket yesterday evening, he's called Norris and he's from Southampton. Poor Norris was very grumpy about the weather. Bees like summer Augusts, not autumn Augusts, and Norris was so upset with this year's effort that he stopped buzzing in protest.

In fact Norris has stopped nearly all his bee duties because he says it's a pretend summer so he's a pretend bee and pretend bees only pretend to buzz. Norris says the temperature makes his armpits cold so he hardly flies any more.

Norris likes real flowers best, but seeing as he's in a pretend summer he is making do with pretend flowers.

Other bees don't speak to Norris any more. They say he's giving bees a bad reputation and it's his kind of attitude that's halting progress. They say he shouldn't hang out with bears like me, but Norris says they should celebrate diversity.

Norris is in the union of honeyworkers.
